Bonneville Land Speed Racing is a unique sport that consists of very determined people who Drive Hot Rods, Roadsters, Belly Tanks, Lakesters, Motorcycles, Streamliners, and even Diesel trucks to "shoot the salt" in a simple quest to have their name added to the list of many Record Holders Bonneville & EL Mirage website UTAH SALT FALT RACING ASSOCIATION
Since 1950 Bob Brissette has been involved in some sort of racing. Bob was Inducted into the Bonneville 200 mph club in 1957 when he averaged 205.344 mph with a one way speed of 220 mph plus running a 331 ci blown hemi Chry on alcohol. The next day Howard Eichenhofer gained entrance into the 2 club at an average of 229.666 mph with a one way speed of over 233 mph running the same combination.
Bob came back to Bonneville 2000 with a 438ci unblown Buick engine installed in the Death Brothers gas roadster and clocked a speed of over 224 mph.
In 2004 he put the 438ci in a Modified Sports car and ran 247.959 mph breaking the record but was not able to make a return run.
In 2005 Bob bought a lakester and rebuild it . He is currently running this lakester # 960 with various unblown gas SBCs at Bonneville and El Mirage with his son Rob Brissette driving.
